Both the CONCACAF Champions League and the Euro CL are underway. (I'll start with Europe because it's awesome). The drawings to determine the groups and their occupants will be held tomorrow, 17:45 CET in Monaco. According to the UEFA official site, 11 champions and 5 newcomers grace the lineup. Let's remind fans that according to UEFA rules, clubs from the same country cannot be in the same group.
Pot one - Manchester United, Barcelona, Chelsea, Bayern Munich, Arsenal, Real Madrid, Porto, Inter Milan.
Pot two - Shakhtar Donetsk, Lyon, Villarreal, AC Milan, Valencia, Marseille, CSKA Moscow, Benfica.
Pot three - Zenit St Petersburg, Man City, Olympiakos, Ajax, Bayer Leverkusen, BATE Borisov, Basle, Lille.
Pot four - Borussia Dortmund, Trabzonspor, Dinamo Zagreb, Napoli, APOEL, Genk, Otelul Galati, Viktoria Plzen.
Serious contenders: most of these teams.
Possible winners: It could be anyone. You never really know. (Trying to avoid making another Switzerland v. Spain World Cup reference).
Today's game with BATE showed us once again that determination can be enough to get a team that few uefa fans know about to win. Back in the world of CONCACAF, where things are already at the Group Stage, Toronto FC is playing FC Dallas at BMO Field in a fight to acquire the top spot in Group C. Dallas have already scored a goal on the 18th minute against the Canadian MLS team. The game is currently being delayed due to storm warnings in the area.
