Manchester United defeat Arsenal 8-2 at Old Trafford
As usual, all United predictions were way off. The Red Devils exceeded all expectations and were merciless against Arsene Wenger's team, with goals by Nani, Park, Welbeck, Young, and a hat-trick by Rooney. Arsenal were powerless, despite a highly overrated Arshavin in the starting eleven playing all 90 minutes of the game.
The match nearly ended 9-2. Arsenal's only goal-scorers were Walcott and Van Persie. (At this point I realized that Vampire Weekend has a song called "Walcott".)
The irony is that Arsenal scored its only goals this season in this particular game.
Some say that this is payback for 2002. Others attempt to predict whether or not Wenger will remain head coach. Let's not judge a team and their coach by one game, especially a game they played against the greatest team in the world.
